About Gold Leaf Awards
Since the 1970s, CHC has honored professionals in public relations, communications, and marketing through our annual Gold Leaf Awards competition. CHC is the only Colorado member organization that exclusively honors local healthcare communicators and marketing professionals.

The 2008 Gold Leaf Awards Dinner was held on Wednesday, November 12 at The University Club. More than 75 entries were submitted this year by local hospitals, nonprofit organizations, and agencies.

Up to three awards were given in 23 categories. The categories included advertising, collateral pieces, annual reports, communications programs, community relations, media relations, websites, presenations, writing, newsletters, and new media.

Several special awards were also given this year. The receipent of the Colorado Hospital Project of the Year was Weise Communications for creating the "Just in Case" Centennial Medical Plaza ER Campaign. The award for Nonprofit Project of the Year went to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Evironment and GroundFloor Media for the "What If? Colorado: Be Ready, Be Healthy, Be Informed" Campaign. The winner of the 2008 Grand Gold Leaf Award, scoring an impressive 119 out of a possible 120 total points, was The Children's Hospital and GroundFloor Media, Inc. for "The Children's Hospital Makes 111 Miracles Happen" media coverage.
